How To Make Irish  Soda Bread

Irish Soda Bread is a dense, unleavened bread made with flour, buttermilk, salt, sugar, and baking soda instead of yeast.

It is very popular especially during St. Patrick's Day in March

Combine dry ingredients

Stir the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt to combine.

Combine wet ingredients

In a separate bowl beat the eggs and oil together.

Mix both

Add both ingredients, raisins and buttermilk to make a soft dough.

Shape dough and let it rest

Gently shape the dough into a ball, slightly flatten, careful not to over handle.

Make a cross on top

Make a deep cross in the top of the bread before placing in oven.

Bake the loaf

Bake 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
