We all go through seasons and at the end of the day, life is going to turn out exactly how it’s meant to turn out. You can’t ruin this moment, this season in your life by stressing about what you can’t change right this second. So, for me the way I am making things work is to just let go and understand that energy flows where attention goes.

These words from Freya Dowson doesn’t just apply to entrepreneurship, does it? It applies to life in general. Freya is an internationally recognized photographer based out of London who mainly photographs non-for-profit work with an emphasis on international development and wildlife conservation.CulturallyOurs Freya Dowson Conservation and Travel Photographer Elephants in AfricaI have known Freya as an online friend for a few years now and even though we have never met in person, I always felt like I knew her because of the way she shared her work with her audience. She is so honest and down to earth about her motivations for doing the work that she does and her passion for sharing authentic stories for her clients, that you cannot help but feel like you are her friend, even if you haven’t met!

Freya shares so freely about her entrepreneurial journey during the podcast interview – her successes, her challenges, her hopes and dreams. Freya also recently became a first-time mom. Her 6-month-old daughter, Rumi, even makes a little bit of a cameo appearance during the podcast and she is adorable. We also talked about how as entrepreneurs, especially women entrepreneurs, we have so many roles and often struggle on achieving a balance between them. For Freya, being a mom of an infant and having a full-time freelancing career is certainly hard. But by having realistic expectations and enjoying the various seasons of life is how she balances all her roles.

When I asked Freya about her biggest a-ha moments of her entrepreneurial journey, her response really struck a chord with me. She said, “Having the courage to go out on my own and having the belief in myself that I could do it. The biggest thing for me has been realizing that you don’t need to have it all figured out before you do what it is that you want to do. You just have to sort of leap before you look and figure it out as you go”.CulturallyOurs Freya Dowson Conservation and Travel Photographer Marakesh market sceneAnalysis paralysis is very real and something so many of us entrepreneurs face. So my friends, if you are on the fence about pursuing your dreams, don’t wait for perfection. Go do it. Like Freya says, everything will work out in the end, just believe in yourself.

If any of this resonated with you, I know you are going to thoroughly enjoy listening to Freya on this episode of CulturallyOurs.
