My philosophy is that we have only one life and we’ve gotta make it count, so I will do all that I want to do and live my life to the fullest.

These are the words of Pravin Shekar, a parallel entrepreneur, nomad, photographer and raconteur from Chennai, India. And in case you are wondering what is a raconteur – it is basically a person who tells anecdotes and stories in a skillful and amusing way. Yup, I had to look that one up as well.

I had a wonderful time chatting with Pravin. He shared such great nuggets of marketing, mindset and networking tips for even the most introverted entrepreneur.

Pravin talked about ways to always differentiate yourself from your competitors and the importance of a personal brand, especially in the early stages of a business. Pravin is also in a position of mentoring and advising other entrepreneurs and he shared how the entrepreneurial landscape in India is changing for the good – a robust ecosystem with a lot of support and input not just from the private sector but also from the Indian government.

One of the questions I love asking entrepreneurs on the podcast is about social media and how important it is in their industry and business environment. Pravin’s take on social media was very unique indeed and he shared his experience with using social media verses traditional forms of marketing and his answer really surprised me. In today’s day and age of social everything, his latest campaign took a much different approach with phenomenal results.

Pravin is an absolute delight to speak with. Raconteur extraordinaire is perhaps the best way to describe him. His energy, enthusiasm and stories really set him apart. As a 20 year veteran of starting multiple businesses with both national and international presence, Pravin has great insight into entrepreneurship and the business mindset.

I know you are going to throughly enjoy listening to Pravin and his stories on this episode of CulturallyOurs.
