CulturallyOurs Travel Guide To Edinburgh Scotland
Listen to the blog post

Over the summer a bunch of my travel photography friends got together virtually and had a zoom session where we drowned our sorrows about cancelled trips and missed opportunities – some alcohol may and may not have been involved as well! It was a bit of a downer zoom call but we lifted ourselves up by talking about bucket lists and dream trips. The idea was that we would live voraciously through where each of us wanted to travel and adventure through the next couple of years and why. We each took a few minutes to think about our own #travelsomeday plans and talk about the why. It was quite amusing to learn that nearly all of us had Scotland within our top 3 places to visit when things would settle down – almost a ‘Look ma…I survived the pandemic’ sort of treat for ourselves. We each had our own reasons for listing down Scotland as our dream destination. Be it history, culture, dramatic landscapes, outdoor adventure or even just a love for all things Scottish – kilts and whiskey was definitely on that list!  Of course, for me, that meant connecting with someone from Scotland who could give me the low down on why Scotland is a great place to visit from a local’s point of view. I am so thrilled to welcome Abigail King, a native Scott to the CulturallyOurs podcast.CulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Applecross West HighlandsCulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Dean Village EdinburghCulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Fairy Pools SkyeCulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Glasgow CitySeen here exploring Applecross in West Highlands, Dean Village in Edinburgh, Fairy pools in Isle of Skye and wandering around Glasgow Scotland.

Abbi is an archaeology graduate living in East Lothian, just outside of Edinburgh. She says she is still figuring out life and in the meanwhile uses photography and visual media as a way to manage her mental health and share her cosy corner of the world. And let me tell you, her images make me (and I am sure) want to catch the next flight out and wander the streets of Edinburgh and explore the wilds of Scotland.CulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Goblin HaCulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local Princess Street Gardens EdinburghCulturallyOurs Exploring Scotland With A Local River Tyne East LothianExploring Goblin Ha, streets of Edinburgh city as well as River Tyne in East Lothian are some of Abbi’s favorite things to do.

Abbi was such a delight to speak with. She shared so many wonderful and beautiful places of her home country as well as activities that seem to be quite unique to Scotland.
