Huge thank you to Wendy of AV Jorden for this lovely, all natural recipe for sugar body scrub. The best part is that it is so easy to make and can be a perfect handmade holiday gift for your friends and family. Wendy is the owner and creator of AV Jorden, a shop that sells all natural skin care products. AV Jorden is based in Denver CO but Wendy ships her products all over the country. Her products smell great, feel fantastic and are all handmade by Wendy. After developing some health issues, Wendy became more aware of what she was putting on her body. Not happy with anything she could find on the market, and being a big DIY-er, she decided to try her own hand at making natural skincare. A passion was lit and Av Jorden was born. She strive to create products that not only nurture your skin, but nurture your soul too. From Wendy,
Sugar scrubs are an amazing way to help exfoliate and get rid of dead skin cells. During the winter months, our skin tends to become much drier than in warmer months. While we may slater on lotion a lot more to try to keep our skin looking fresh, we cannot truly moisturize our skin properly until those dead skin cells are removed. Exfoliation should be a regular part of your routine two to three times a week. It is only then that your skin will show its true potential and become more radiant. Trust me, your skin will thank you for it!
Sugar Scrub Recipe:
- 1 c. Cane Sugar
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. Coconut Oil, melted
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
Melt the coconut oil in a double boiler. If you do not have a double boiler, put the coconut oil in a glass bowl and rest the bowl on top of a pot that has water in it. Place the pot on the stove on medium heat until the coconut oil is melted. Remove the bowl with melted coconut and quickly pour in the sugar and baking soda. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to combine the ingredients until they are mixed well.
You can now scent the sugar scrub with any essential oils or fragrance as you please. Or keep it all natural with just the coconut oil which smells heavenly just by itself. We cannot wait to try this easy coconut sugar scrub for ourselves. And if you are looking for any last minute gift ideas that are handmade, check out Wendy’s shop – AV Jorden. She has some amazing products that you know will be good for your skin and body.
