I feel most proud of the fact that I am able to inspire and help other people, people who I haven’t even met or know except for connecting with them online.

These are the words of Sasha Back of EarthingSasha, a 16 year old vegan food blogger, entrepreneur and an amazing food photographer from Sydney Australia.

Yup, You heard that right, Sasha is just 16 years old and is already quite a star in the vegan food blogging world. And she is the perfect person to kick off Season 02 of CulturallyOurs – Global Entrepreneurship.

I chatted with Sasha early in the year when she was enjoying the Australian summer waiting for her school to start. Well! maybe not really waiting. Like any 16 year old, she was sad that vacations were soon getting over. But I have to say, she is one of the most mature 16 year olds I have ever had the chance to meet and chat with.

We talked about how her business has evolved over the years, what made her decide to pursue entrepreneurship at such a young age and what keep her going in spite of all the things happening in her life – school, business and just being a teen. What she said really surprised me and got a smile to my face.

Sasha shares her formula for success and you know what, its really quite simple. No gimmicks or tricks. Just work hard, be true to your purpose, engage with your audience and most importantly, have fun! She even shares tips on how to be successful on social media especially Instagram where she has an audience of over 35K engaged followers and fans. She is not only a self-taught chef (with a lot of help and support from her mom) but also a self-taught photographer and her photos make me want to reach out into the computer and just eat up what ever she posts – vegan chocolate chip cookies, açaí berry bliss smoothies, Korean kimchi pancakes, grilled apricot summer salad and everything else in between.

Sasha is an absolute delight to speak with. You can hear her smile on her face and the sincerity in her voice as she talks about her passion for food, eating to do right to the world and even her hopes and dreams for her business and her life.
